Diuraphis tritici (Gillette, 1911) - (western wheat aphid)

This aphid is found in North America where it breeds on grasses and cereals. It is closely related to the Russian wheat aphid (Diuraphis noxia). In the laboratory, both species can interbred and produced viable offspring. D. noxia has a large process above the cauda which is missing in D. tritici (e.g. Puterka, 2017).
