Diplocarpon F.A. Wolf 1912

The fungi in this genus cause leaf and fruit spot as well as other diseases on a variety of crops. For example Diplocarpon rosae causes blackspot on roses and Diplocarpon fragariae leaf scorch of strawberry.

The sexual fruiting bodies (apothecia) are well-developed and erumpt. The ascospores are approximately crenscent shaped. Asexual forms and conidia have been described under the genus Marssonina
