Dichroplus Stål, 1873
This genus includes around 15 species of grasshoppers that are found in South and Central America. It is the dominant genus of grasshoppers in South America. The species are mostly polyphagous and several are considered to be pests of grasses and various other crops like cereals, alfalfa, soybeans and fruit trees. For example, Dichroplus maculipennis can cause outbreaks.
