Cyrtorhinus Fieber, 1858
The genus contains around 20 species of predatory mirids which often feed on the eggs of delphacids. The eggs of these planthoppers are either laid in rows along stems and midribs or are inserted into slits in the stem. The predatory bugs search for the eggs and suck out their content. The most important species is Cyrtorhinus lividipennis which is found in Asia and is an important natural enemy of delphacid pests like Nilaparvata lugens in that region.
