Cotesia chilonis (parasitoid) (Munakata, 1912)

This wasp is a gregarious endoparasitoid, native to Asia, which has been introduced into parts of Africa. The hosts include mainly stemborers from the Lepidoptera families Crambidae and Noctuidae that infest cereals and sugarcane. For example, it is an important natural enemy of the rice stemborer, Chilo suppressalis, and other Chilo species.
