Corythucha ciliata (Say, 1832) - (sycamore lace bug)
This lace bug attacks sycamore and plane trees and is native to eastern North America. It has spread to various parts of the world like Europe (first record in Italy 1964), South America (first record in Chile in the 1980s), Asia (first record in Korea in 1995) and Australia (first record in 2006).
Heavily attacked trees trun brown and drop their leaves prematurely. There can be 5 or more generations per year under favorable conditions. The adults are about 3 mm long.
