Corynespora Güssow, 1906
This genus of plant pathogenic fungi is common and widespread is tropical and subtropical regions. Economically, the most important species is Corynespora cassiicola which infects many crops and causes leaf spot and target spot diseases. The genus is characterized by the DNA structure of its members and by the morphology of the conidia and conidiophores (Quaedvlieg et al., 2013).
