Coquillettidia linealis (Skuse, 1889)
This mosquito is found in Queensland and other parts of eastern Australia. It is a vector of the Ross River and Barmah Forest viruses. Like other species of Coquillettidia, the larvae and pupae develop in fresh water pools, while staying attached to the roots of certain aquatic plants. Their respiratory structures are adapted to obtain oxygen from these plants.
