Colopterus truncatus (Randall)

This sap beetles is attracted to the fresh wounds of oak trees as well as to sporulating diseased oaks infected by the oak wilt pathogen Ceratocystis fagacearum. It is considered an important vector of that disease in North America. It has been occasionally reported of feeding on ripe strawberries.
