Coccus pseudomagnoliarum (Kuwana, 1914) - (citricola scale)

The scale is an invasive and serious pest of citrus and also infest other crops. It is native in Asia and was first recorded from California around 1909. It is now wide-spread in various regions. Infested trees experience die-back as well as reduced flowering and fruit setting. In addition, fruits become contaminated with sooty mould.
