Citrus necrotic spot virus (CiNSV)
The virus causes symptoms of citrus leprosis in Mexico and contains two negative-strand RNA components. Virus particles accumulate in the cytoplasm and are associated with plasmodesmata—channels interconnecting neighboring cells—suggesting a mode of spread within the plant.
The virus has been assigned to the proposed genus Dichorhavirus, based on RNA similarities.
