Chrysodeixis Hübner, 1821

This genus of loopers is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions and contains around 30 species. It includes several important argricultural pests attacking various crops, e.g. the soybean looper, Chrysodeixis includens or the tomato looper, Chrysodeixis chalcites.

The genus is characterized by the structure of the male genitalia. Some species have previously been classified under the genus Pseudoplusia which is now considered a synonym of Chrysodeixis .
