Cerotoma trifurcata (Förster, 1771) - (bean leaf beetle)

This leaf beetle is a serious pest of soybean in North America and a vector of several soybean viruses like the Bean pod mottle virus. The adults damage the leaves, stems and pods while the larvae feed on the roots. It overwinters as adult in leaf litter in woody areas.
