Ceroplastes destructor Newstead, 1917 - (white wax scale)
This wax scale has been mainly reported from Africa, southern Asia, Australia and New Zealand. It infests citrus, coffee and a number of other fruit trees. Biological control with parasitoids has been attempted in Africa and Australia (e.g. Wakgari, 2001).
