Cercospora sorghi Ellis & Everh. 1887 - (grey leaf spot of sorghum)
This fungus is common in tropical and subtropical regions, infecting sorghum and maize. The leafspots are elongated and reddish brown with a grey centre. Epidemics can develop on susceptible sorghum cultivars. The form infecting maize has been named Cercospora sorghi var. maydis. However, this variety may be a separate species (Crous et al., 2006).
