This fungus is mainly found in tropical regions where it causes a leaf spot disease on cowpea, other Vigna species, beans, and some other crops. The leaf spots have been described as brownish or greyish with a red margin. The conidia are elongated (typically around 100 x 4 µm) with 5 to 10 septa.
