Cercospora brassicicola Henn. (1905)
This fungus is widespread in tropical and subtropical countries and causes a white leaf spot disease on Brassica species like Brassica chinensis or B. oleracea. The leaf spots are circular to angular with a white centre, and brown raised borders. The disease results in discoloration and decay of the petioles and blades, reducing product quality and value. In general, crops are rejected if more than 10% of the leaf area is affected.
