The secondary hosts are usually Asteraceae like artichoke or different species of thistles. The aphid is considered a vector of Potato virus Y. The wingless stage is around 2.5 mm long and pale green. The winged form is brownish with dark antennae, head, thorax and a dark mark on the abdomen.
