Capitophorus Goot, 1913

This genus of aphids is widely distributed around the world and includes around 30 species. Aptera have a body length of around 2 mm and are often colourless or light green, with long legs and long antennae. In some species, the life cycle includes a primary host (typically a plant in the family Elaeagnaceae) and a secondary host. Several species are regarded as pests like Capitophorus elaeagni a wide-spread pest of artichokes and other crops.
