Capitophorus horni (Börner, 1931) - (green artichoke aphid)

This aphid can be a pest of artichoke in Europe, neighbouring regions and North America. It also attacks thistles (Cirsium). The life cycle is usually anholocyclic, where females reproduce by parthenogenesis and males are absent. The apterae are around 2 mm long and faintly greenish.
