Buglossoides arvensis (weed) (L.) I.M.Johnst. - (corn gromwell)

This plant is native to Europe and Asia, but has been introduced into other regions like Australia, the Americas or southern Africa. It grows mainly in open areas, including disturbed habitats, meadows and crop fields like cereals.

The plant reaches a height of around 50 cm with a well-developed tap root. It has elongated, simple and hairy leaves. The flowers are small and white. The sepals are long and hairy and remain around the developing seeds.
