This wasp is widely distributed in Europe, temperate parts of Asia and North America. It is a solitary pupal endoparasitoid of many species of Lepidoptera, including important pest species like the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar. Oviposition is typically on freshly molted pupae, sometime also on prepupae.
