Brachymeria Westwood 1829
This genus contains more than 300 species of chalcidid wasps and is widely distributed. Typically, they are primary pupal endoparasitoids of Lepidoptera and a number of them are regarded as important natural enemies of pest moths like the gypsy moth or the diamondback moth. Some species are also obligatory or facultative hyperparasitoids.
