Arceuthobium campylopodum (weed) A. Gray - (western dwarf mistletoe)
This mistletoes is found in western parts of North America, where it is a parasite of Pinus ponderosa and Pinus jeffreyi. However, there are also reports of infestations of other pine species and even on spruce species (Mathiasen et al., 1908). Seeds are ejected and disperse in autumn. The impact of infestations on the host trees is not very pronounced, but severe infestations can increase the risk of wildfire in the affected stands (Stanton & Hadley, 2010).
