The activity of some compounds extracts by Allium on stored-product insects Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.), Sitophilus oryzae (L.) and Tribolium castaneum (Herbst)
Anzeiger für Schädlingskunde, Pflanzenschutz, Umweltschutz 72 (5), 122-125
Abstract: The bioactive metabolites of some Allium plants, all exhibiting interesting pharmacological activities, were tested for their attractive/repellent activity against saw-toothed grain beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.), rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.), and rust-red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum (Herbst), insects infesting the stored-products.
The data obtained showed significant repellent effect of the thiosulfinates against S. oryzae.
