Anopheles splendidus Koidzumi, 1920
This mosquito is found in southern Asia from the western Himalayas to southern China. It has been reported to carry Plasmodium sporozoites and is considered to be a possible malaria vector. However, it is mainly attracted to cattle. A. splendidus breeds predominantly in clear stagnant or slow flowing water like jungle pools or irrigation channels.
