Anopheles smaragdinus Reinert, 1997
This mosquito is found in southern and eastern parts of North America, see Levine et al. (2004) for distribution maps. The preferred habitats are marshes and woody areas. It is not regarded as a malaria vector. An. smaragdinus has been previously regarded as a form of Anopheles quadrimaculatus.
