Anopheles saperoi Bohart & Ingram, 1946
The mosquito is found in Japan and bites humans as well as other mammals, usually around sunset. The species is susceptible to rodent malaria (Plasmodium yoelii nigeriense), see Toma et al. (2002). It breeds in streams.
