Anopheles nivipes (Theobald, 1903)
This mosquito is found in southern Asia from India to Laos and can be common in some areas. It bites humans and is regarded as a vector of the malaria agent Plasmodium falciparum (e.g. see Bhattacharyya et al., 2010 or Al-Amin et al., 2015). However, the preferred host appears to be cattle (see Marasri et al., 2017). Morphologically, A. nivipes is very similar to Anopheles philippinensis.
