Anopheles mattogrossensis Lutz & Neiva, 1911

This mosquito is found in forest areas of South America. It has been reported to feed on domestic animals, but also on birds and lizards (e.g. Alencar et al., 2005). It breeds in flooded areas, swamps, marshes, rivers and pools.

Identification keys have been published in the following three articles: 1) for adult males, 2) for fourth-instar larvae and 3) for adult females.
