Anopheles lutzii Cruz, 1901

This mosquito is found in southern Brazil and has been also reported from neighbouring areas in Argentina and Paraguay. It bites humans and is a possible malaria vector. It has been found to carry Plasmodium vivax (Duarte et al., 2013).
