Anopheles intermedius (Peryassu, 1908)
This mosquito is found in South America, where it is associated with forest environments as well as with open areas. It readily bites humans, mainly during dawn and dusk, and has been recorded to carry the malaria agent Plasmodium falciparum. The larvae have been collected from streams and lakes.
