Anopheles epiroticus Linton & Harbach, 2005
This mosquito is found in coastal area of southern Asia, from eastern India to Thailand and including Malaysia in the south. It is regarded as a malaria vector in countries like Thailand. A. epiroticus bites humans during the night, but has been also frequently collected with buffalo-baited traps (Ritthison et al., 2014). It breeds in brackish water like shrimp and fish farms. Before 2005, it has been referred to as "Anopheles sundaicus species A".
