Anopheles demeilloni Evans, 1933
This mosquito is found in southern and eastern Africa. It can be common in some areas, including indoors, biting humans and feeding on cattle. In Ethiopia, 2 out of 347 females have been found to carry Plasmodium falciparum sporozoites (Daygena et al., 2017). However, it is in general not regarded as an important malaria vector. Breeding has been recorded along the edges of streams, in swamps and in pools, containing vegetation and mats of algae (e.g. see Gone et al., 2014).
