Anopheles benarrochi Gabaldon, Gracia & Lopez, 1941

This mosquito is found mainly in northern parts of South America. It has not been implicated in the transmission of malaria, feeding primarily on domestic animals and rarely entering houses. It breeds in stagnant water like pools or wells, containing a large amount of organic material.
