Anopheles argyropus (Swellengrebel, 1914)

This mosquito is found in southern Asia from India to Vietnam and Indonesia. It has been reported to feed on livestock and can be also found in houses. An. argyropus breeds in rice fields and swamps. Transmission of malaria has not been documented (Sumarnrote et al., 2020), but An. argyropus is regarded as a possible vector of filariasis in Thailand (Saeung et al., 2013]). Taxonomically it belongs to the Anopheles hyrcanus group.
