Amblyomma sculptum Berlese, 1888

This species of tick is a member of the Amblyomma cajennense species complex and is found in northern Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and southern Brazil (Martins et al., 2016). It is common in southern Brazil where it is a livestock pest and the main vector of the spotted fever agent Rickettsia rickettsii.
