Alternaria grandis E. G. Simmons 2000

This fungus is widely distributed and infects plants from the family Solanaceae, causing early blight, a disease caused also be other Alternaria species, predominantly Alternaria solani. Symptoms caused by A. grandis on tomatoes have been described as "black lesions surrounded by a yellow halo" (Bessadat et al., 2016). A. grandis belongs to the section Porri of the Alternaria species and is closely related to Alternaria solani (Woudenberg et al., 2014).
