Alphabaculovirus chrincludentis (entomopathogen)

Assigned virus:
Pseudoplusia includens single nucleopolyhedrovirus (PsinSNPV)

This baculovirus infects the soybean looper, Chrysodeixis includens (previously named Pseudoplusia includens), in the Americas. Inside an occlusion body encloses single nucleocapsids per envelope. Another very similar virus named 'Chrysodeixis includens nucleopolyhedrovirus (ChinNPV)' (Alphabaculovirus alterchrincludentis) has also been described, based on the isolate ChinNPV#1. However, since Pseudoplusia includens has been renamed to Chrysodeixis includens, many authors have referred to the 'Pseudoplusia includens single nucleopolyhedrovirus' as 'Chrysodeixis includens nucleopolyhedrovirus' or (ChinNPV).
