Aedes fluviatilis (Lutz, 1904)
This mosquito is found in Central and South America, from Mexico to Argentina. It is highly anthropophilic and is regarded as a competent vector of the yellow fever virus. Further, it can be artificially infected with the dengue virus. A. fluviatilis can be found in various habitats including urban and rural areas. It bites mainly during the day.
