Aedes excrucians (Walker, 1856)
This is a snow-pool mosquito, found in northern parts of North America, Europe and Asia. It overwinters in the egg stage and the larvae hatch early in the season and develop in spring. The adults have a long live span and can survive until autumn. It has been suspected of being a vector of dog heartworm in some areas.
