Aedes africanus (Theobald, 1901)
This mosquito is found in tropical parts of sub-Saharan Africa and is an important vector of yellow fever. It further transmits various other viruses like the Dengue and Chikungunya viruses. It bites humans and other primates and may enter houses. It is usually associated with forest environments and breeds in tree holes or in artificial containers.
