Adelphocoris lineolatus (Goeze, 1778) - (alfalfa plant bug)
This polyphagous plant bug is native to Europe, northern parts of Asia and neighbouring regions. It is an exotic pest in North America. Crops damaged include mainly alfalfa, cotton and other legumes, where it feeds on the buds and developing fruits, causing deformed fruits and yield losses. In eastern Asia it has become more prominent after the introduction of Bt cotton (Pan et al., 2014). It has been also reported as a predator of aphids (Pons et al., 2005).
