Phyllosticta sphaeropsoidea Ellis & Everh. 1883

This fungus is widely distributed in temperate regions. It causes dryness of horse-chestnut leaves or leaf blotch of horse-chestnut. Infections result in red-brown necrotic areas on the leaves with characteristic yellow edges.
