Anopheles christyi (Newstead & Carter, 1911)
This mosquito is found in central and eastern Africa. It is not regarded as a malaria vector, but bites humans and has been found in houses. The main hosts appear to be livestock (Animut et al., 2013). An. christyi breeds in pools on river banks, rain pools, rock pools and tire tracks (Getachew et al., 2020). An. christyi is similar to Anopheles pharoensis and both species can be confused.
