Diabrotica speciosa (Germar, 1824) - (South American rootworm)

The beetle is found in South America where it attacks potatoes, other vegetables, fruits, legumes and grasses. The adult feeds on the leaves, causing defoliation, while the larvae bore into the roots and tubers, form galleries and cause chlorosis.
