Choanephora cucurbitarum (Berk. & Ravenel) Thaxt.
The fungus is widely distributed in warmer region and causes diseases like Choanephora fruit rot or flower blight on various hosts. Typical symptoms include a soft rot with the fungus growing on the effected surface, forming spherical sporangia. Sporangiospores are elongated, brownish and striate with a size of around 10 x 20 µm.
