Spathius agrili (parasitoid) Yang et al., 2005

The wasp parasitises larvae of the emerald ash borer, Agrilus planipennis and has been introduced from China into North America starting in 2007. The adults are attracted by volatiles of ash trees and search for host larvae by walking along the bark, sensing feeding vibrations of A. planipennis. Last instar larvae are then paralysed by a sting through the bark and a batch of up to 10 eggs is deposited.
