Metarhizium acridum (entomopathogen) (Driver & Milner) J.F. Bisch., Rehner & Humber 2009
infects mainly insects of the order Orthoptera. It is closely related to Metarhizium anisopliae and until 2009 was considered to be part or a variety of that species. In some publications this species has also been misidentified as Metarhizium flavoviride.
