Cervus nippon Temminck, 1838 - (sika deer)
This species of deer is native to eastern Asia and has been introduced for hunting or display into other regions like Europe, North America or New Zealand. Some of the introduced populations have become invasive and those are often considered undesirable on ecological or social grounds and for aspects of forest protection. Several subspecies have been described and introduced.
